book: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - interesting concept and crazy cool illustrations.
song: push me to the floor by the parlotones - my south african friend Casey introduced me to this awesome band. Definitely worth checking out.
movie: the kings speech
recent buy: a ticket to 'lady chatterleys lover' and a watermelon blended ice with coconut jelly from bubble cup
what i want to buy: another watermelon blended ice with coconut jelly from bubblecup, and a red skirt.
addicted to: red lips, curly hair and cinnamon hot chocolate
what i want to accomplish: the perfect pin curl
restaurant of the moment: Rose Garden BBQ, 435 Elizabeth street - this is one of my favourite places to eat when i'm in the city, most of the dishes are under $10 and are amazingly delicious. I normally get the fried rice with BBQ or Roast pork and Duck but i recommend the Spicy Chicken ribs that are to die for.
thanks to Munching in Melbourne for the picture :)

i've been dreaming..
theres a lot that im bad at blog, but i admit that alice is right and one of my worst faults is that i'm terrible at posting.
i know, im a shocker.. i really should make the time, there is no excuse.
i'm telling the truth when i say that not much has happened as of late - came back from america, started school, went to a few parties and spent some afternoons with a picnic or two.. i did go to a nude play but all in all its been as boring as usual..
I've got a new dream though - to go to my dads native south america and teach english to little kids.. I'm not sure if i'd do jungle very well though - i dont like spiders and snakes and i dont really rock the 3/4 shorts and sneakers look (which is all we see humanitarians in nowadays) but whats a dream for? its something to think about one night when im 30, drowning my sorrows in chocolate and wondering what i should do with the rest of my life after a failed career.. i mean hopefully my life doesnt turn out like that but really.. who knows?
i'll be thirty in 14 years..
time is going to fast fellow bloggers..

the aussies made them do it (:
i have to say that a month away from home felt like a great idea 5 months ago when i applied for the Kansas Exchange..
it still is a great idea and i've had the most amazing experience of my life while being here but i am definitely ready to go home..
so i thought i'd list 3 things that i love about this country (thats america for those who were unsure)
1. Teenage driving ; Life has never been so simple! the fact that i can ask Caitlin (my host sister) to take me anywhere and we dont have to wait for her parents to be ready is awesome!
2. New american friends ; my host sister Caitlin and alice's (alice being the creator and writer of Wonder the alice land) host sister Jessica.. I cant imagine being on the opposite side of the world from them in only 5 days..
3. Kick-ass TV ; you know its a wonderfull world when MTV is a free TV chanel :)
and 3 things that i love and miss about australia!
1. Family time! ; because everyone can drive so early on here i feel like family time is quite a rare thing, as opposed to my life back in aus when every night is family time!
2. The indecisive melbourne weather! ; i'd take rain one moment and sunshine the next with no complaints if it meant i wouldnt have to see snow for awhile..
3. Roast Pumpkin! ; strange as it seems, for someone who has roast pumpkin atleast once a week the idea of living in a place that eats pumpkin once a year (on halloween.. pumpkin pie anyone?) weirds me out a little..
so thats all for now readers!

fudgy (:
so its been a long long while since i last posted..
since then i've finished year 10, been to sydney and back and now - in 5 days i'm off to Kansas City, America on exchange!
i know i havent written about how excited i am about going.. so i'll write it now..
I'm so excited about going!
i'm also excited about christmas! because christmas is the best (: when i was younger christmas was the only time of year i'd ever remember seeing all my family in one place.. so christmas was never really about presents or the amazng food but more about spending time with loved ones..
anyway, christmas reminds me of yummy food and nothing is yummier than choc chip cookies.. so i thought i'd share one of my favourite recipes that i often give out as presents after parties.. they are super delicious and stay nice and fudgy (1. is that even how you spell that? and 2. when did people start using words like 'fudgy' to descrbe nice foods?) for days (:
Choc Chip Cookies
180g of softened butter
1/3 cup of caster sugar
125ml of condensed milk (though i always like to add a little extra for extra 'fudgy'-ness)
1 1/2 cups of self raising flour
and Chocolate chip bits
Method:
1). Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Using an electric mixer beat the butter and sugar together untill light a creamy. Beat in condensed milk. Add in sifted flour and mix on low speed untill smooth. Add Chocolate chips and mix.
2). Roll about 2 teaspoons full of the mixture into balls and place on baking paper lined trays.
3). Bake for 12-15 minutes (though this really depends on taste, my family like their cookies cooked for only 10 minutes)
with this recipe i ususally get 30-36 cookies (:
And finally, If i dont post agan untill christmas which, is probebly likely.. then Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sudoku!
so this weekend annalisa and i were thinking we'd take Kathleen to the Mycube Cafe , its a board games cafe which is arguably the coolest thing ever? anna and i think its quite original, so we are very excited to try it out and post it up on the food blog :)
lately i've been obsessed with Maroon 5 to a point that i actually dream about them.. that and sudoku..
is that weird?
Sudoku is quite fun, i think that everyone should try it out.. i read somewhere that its like a workout for your brain..
but if your not into Sudoku you should definitely check out Give a little more by Maroon 5, i have to admit i'd rather watch Adam Levine than sit down with a book full of numbers..
oh and this song to!
Only the Young is a new Brandon Flowers song, and it is amazing so watch it!
moving on..
Daisy and i spend quite abit of time pondering the whole meaning of the world was in Italian today which, evidently, was a lot more amusing than reading about the workplace in Italy..
love,
